Hello, my name is Sophie and I run Happy Paws Pet Care. I have the best job in the world, looking after your lovely pets.
So, a bit about me....
I am firstly an animal lover, but one with lots of professional and academic experience, which should hopefully put your mind at ease that your pets are in very safe hands.
I have always had weird and wonderful animals, from bunnies to giant African land snails and I have worked with even stranger creatures whilst volunteering helping orphaned animals in Namibia, have a look at my gallery to see the pictures. So whether it's your cat you need looking after or your cheetah , I am equipped for the job!
I love animals so much, I dedicated three years studying Animal Science at University which resulted in me obtaining my Bachelor of Science Degree. This course allowed me to study areas of animal care such as:
*Small Mammal Care
*Exotics and Aquatic Care
....to name but a few!
Whilst studying for my degree I also volunteered at rescue centres which gave me great experience working with neglected animals. Whilst very sad, I learnt how to handle animals which may not fully trust us humans yet, very testing but also extremely rewarding! The practical skills I gained whilst volunteering were invaluable; such as learning correct hygiene, medication administration, handling, hygiene and disease control....again to name but a few!
In January of 2018 I decided to have a childhood friend Charlotte join me on my Happy Paws journey, with years of personal experience with our furry friends I knew she would make the perfect addition to the Happy Paws family.
As well as working with animals, we have a vast amount of experience working with people also, so you can be guaranteed a high standard of customer service which is both friendly and professional.
We know how important it is to trust the person who is looking after your furry friends, they are a member of your family... so please feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions or want to know more about us. We look forward to hearing from you!
